This is her story –Homelessness client finds accommodation with help from SydWest

Mrs. Shah* is originally from Afghanistan and was renting a bedroom property in Liverpool. However, due to her partner being unable to pay rent, the couple was evicted. They both moved into her mother-in-law's house while she was 9 months pregnant, but when she went to the hospital to deliver her baby, her in-laws kicked her out of the house for reasons unknown to her while her partner travelled interstate to look for work.

After approaching us for assistance at a time of crisis, a SydWest Homelessness case worker has helped Mrs Shah* and her 1-month-old baby boy to secure long-term accommodation and they will move into Transitional Accommodation (TA) for 6 months. They have been in temporary accommodation since they came out of the hospital last month. We have been supporting them to secure a rental or public housing property, and they are no longer homeless.
